This event tracks various point-spread outcomes for an upcoming basketball game, allowing participants to speculate on the exact margin of victory for either team. Each outcome represents a different threshold by which one team must win for the condition to be met. The game’s result determines which, if any, of these conditions are satisfied.
All markets resolve based on the official final point differential of the Oklahoma City vs San Antonio Pro Basketball game scheduled for Oct 20, 2026. For markets where San Antonio must win by a specified margin, if San Antonio’s points exceed Oklahoma City’s points by more than the stated threshold (e.g., over 28.5 points), that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Conversely, for markets where Oklahoma City must win by a specified margin, if Oklahoma City’s points exceed San Antonio’s points by more than the stated threshold (e.g., over 1.5 points), that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but commences within 48 hours of its original scheduled start time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game is cancelled or fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price, ensuring equitable treatment for all participants under these exceptional circumstances.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows traders to express their own independent beliefs. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders attempt to profit from the price variations between this market and external sources.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes of the spread. The price of each contract reflects the market's collective assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market dynamically adjusts based on supply and demand, meaning the price will move up if more people are buying (increasing confidence in an outcome) and down if more people are selling.
This market resolves around Oct 21, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final spread will be determined by the official result of the Oklahoma City versus San Antonio game, as reported by a trusted sports data provider. The market will settle to 100 for the winning outcome—either San Antonio wins by over the spread, or Oklahoma City wins or loses by less than the spread. Traders holding contracts on the correct outcome will receive a payout of 100 per contract.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team lineups, or coaching strategies could significantly shift the perceived probabilities. Unexpected performance from key players in recent games, or even weather conditions impacting the game, could also lead to price movements. Public sentiment, as reflected in media coverage and social media, can also play a role, as can large trading volume from informed participants. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for understanding potential shifts in this market.
