This market tracks which team will lead at the end of the second quarter in an upcoming college football game between Ohio and Nebraska. It reflects the competitive momentum and scoring efficiency of each team during that specific period of play.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points in the second quarter of the Ohio vs Nebraska college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. If Nebraska scores more points during that quarter, the 'Nebraska wins 2nd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Ohio scores more points, the 'Ohio wins 2nd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the 'Tie 2nd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals trading based on their own analysis and information. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook is mispricing a team's chances, they can express that view by buying or selling contracts, potentially causing the prediction market odds to diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. This difference can highlight areas where the crowd disagrees with experts.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. Each contract represents a 100-cent payout if the corresponding outcome wins. The price of a contract reflects the market’s probability of that outcome occurring; a contract trading at 60 cents implies a 60% chance of that outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their bids and asks based on new information and their own expectations, leading to dynamic price movements. The more traders who believe a team will win the 2nd quarter, the higher the price of that team’s contract will climb.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The team leading at the end of the 2nd quarter of the Ohio vs Nebraska football game will be declared the winner of this market. The resolution will be based on the official game results as reported by a widely recognized sports data provider. All trading will cease once the outcome is known, and contracts will be settled accordingly, paying out 100 cents for winning contracts and 0 cents for losing contracts.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Ohio or Nebraska team would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also impact the market. Furthermore, pre-game analysis from sports commentators and analysts, as well as public sentiment expressed on social media, can all play a role in shifting trader expectations and driving price fluctuations. Unexpected line movements in sportsbooks could also prompt traders to reassess their positions in this market.
