This market will resolve to "TSG 1899 Hoffenheim" if TSG 1899 Hoffenheim are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome. If no acceptable data is available within 24 hours of the event's conclusion, this market will resolve 50-50, or to "Draw" where applicable.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a more accurate forecast of events than traditional sportsbook odds, as they aggregate the wisdom of the crowd. However, sportsbook odds are influenced by factors like house edge and marketing strategies. For this market, it’s common to see initial discrepancies between Polymarket’s implied probabilities and those offered by sportsbooks. These differences can arise from varying levels of information available to each group, or simply differing risk appetites among traders versus bookmakers. Over time, these odds tend to converge as the event approaches and more information is incorporated.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief about which team will score first. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders believe a particular team is likely to score first, the higher the price of shares representing that outcome will climb. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading on the platform, offering a unique perspective on the event’s potential outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 17, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will determine which team—OFI or TSG 1899 Hoffenheim—scored the first goal in the match. The resolution will be based on official match data and verified against credible public sources. The platform will then distribute payouts to those who correctly predicted the first team to score, based on the final share prices at the time of resolution. Traders should monitor official sources for confirmation of the match result.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding team injuries, particularly to key offensive players, would likely cause significant shifts in the odds. Changes in weather conditions, which could impact the style of play, could also be a catalyst. Unexpected lineup announcements or tactical changes revealed before the match could also move the market. Finally, any significant public sentiment shifts, perhaps driven by expert analysis or fan discussions, could influence trader behavior and alter the probabilities reflected in the market.
