Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market’s odds are driven purely by traders buying and selling based on their own analysis. If a significant number of traders believe a team is more likely to score first than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. Discrepancies can present opportunities for arbitrage, but remember that prediction markets involve their own risks.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders can buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring.
