This market refers to the cricket match between India and Afghanistan scheduled for June 17 2026 in ODI Series India vs Afghanistan. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking to profit from accurate forecasts. Sportsbook odds typically incorporate sharp professional input and real-time adjustments, whereas prediction markets aggregate the collective belief of a broader, sometimes less specialized crowd. Both can offer valuable signals, but they rarely align perfectly, making it useful to monitor this market alongside major sportsbooks to spot discrepancies and identify potential value.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling shares that represent different outcomes of the series. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the implied probability that outcome will occur, with prices ranging from near zero to near one dollar. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their positions, moving the price up or down. This continuous auction mechanism ensures the market price incorporates the latest available information and trader conviction, making it a real-time gauge of expected probabilities.
This market resolves around Jun 24, 2026, once the series concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official result of the ODI series between India and Afghanistan. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new developments unfold. Resolution timing may shift slightly if the event is postponed or rescheduled, but the market will settle only when the series is complete and the winner is definitively established.
Several factors could shift trader sentiment and move prices before resolution. Team roster changes, injuries to key players, or last-minute lineup announcements often trigger sharp repricing. Recent form and head-to-head records leading into the series will influence positioning. Weather conditions at the venue and pitch reports can sway expectations, especially in ODI cricket where conditions heavily impact play. Political or logistical developments affecting the series schedule may also prompt traders to reassess. As the event draws closer and more concrete information emerges, expect increased volatility and volume as traders refine their forecasts.
