Sportsbooks establish lines based on statistical models and their own risk assessment, while this market aggregates the opinions of many individuals. It's common to see discrepancies, especially when public sentiment strongly favors one outcome. These differences can present opportunities for arbitrage, where traders exploit price inefficiencies between the two. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, and neither guarantees the actual result.

The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of each outcome. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment of the event. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, with higher demand pushing prices up and indicating greater confidence in a particular outcome. This creates a dynamic and responsive pricing system.
