On Polymarket and Kalshi, pricing mechanisms and user bases create natural variation. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, differing liquidity pools mean price impact from large trades can be stronger on lower-volume platforms. Additionally, each venue attracts distinct participant demographics, which can skew sentiment temporarily. Right now, Polymarket sets its odds based on the flow of bets from its community, while Kalshi may weight statistical models or broader market trends differently, producing unique price signals for this market.
