Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs. If a significant number of people believe an outcome is more likely than a sportsbook suggests, the prediction market odds will shift accordingly. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges that hasn't been fully incorporated into sportsbook lines.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous trading mechanism where participants buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability. Conversely, selling pressure lowers the price. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading it.

This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result of the second half of the Norway vs. Portugal match will be used to determine which outcome satisfies the conditions of this market. Resolution will be based on the official result as reported by a trusted sports data provider, ensuring a fair and accurate assessment of the event’s conclusion. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies for future events.

Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, changes in team tactics, or even weather conditions could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected performance in the first half of the match will likely have a significant impact, as will any in-game events like red cards or penalties. Furthermore, major shifts in public opinion, reflected in polls or expert analysis, could also cause the market to move. Monitoring these signals will be key to understanding potential price fluctuations.
