Frequently asked questions

On Predict, the first-goal scorer market dashboard tracks real-time odds and historical price movements for which team will score first in the Norway vs. England match. The interface displays current implied probabilities for each outcome, along with 24-hour trading volume and cumulative liquidity in this market. Traders use the dashboard to monitor shifting sentiment as match day approaches, compare live odds across different prediction windows, and execute trades based on team news, injury updates, or tactical analysis. This snapshot helps participants gauge consensus expectations before the event concludes.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance liability and generate profit margins, while prediction markets allow traders to set prices through supply and demand. For this matchup, prediction market participants may price in nuanced factors—such as recent form, head-to-head patterns, or tactical adjustments—that sportsbooks lag in reflecting. Comparing the two can reveal where one venue perceives edge relative to the other, though both aim to predict the same underlying outcome: which team scores first.

On Predict, this market is priced through continuous order-book mechanics, where traders submit buy and sell orders that determine the implied probability of each outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Prices move in real time as new information emerges—team lineups, weather conditions, or betting flow—and traders adjust their positions accordingly. The platform displays the spread between bid and ask, reflecting the cost of immediate execution. Deeper liquidity typically narrows spreads, making it cheaper to enter or exit positions. Traders profit by identifying mispriced outcomes relative to their own probability estimates.

This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the Norway vs. England match concludes and the first goal is verified. The outcome is determined by which team scores the opening goal, confirmed against credible public reporting of the match result. Early or late goals, own goals, and other edge cases are adjudicated according to standard football rules and the platform's published guidelines. Traders holding positions in the winning outcome receive their payout once verification is complete and the market officially settles.

Several catalysts can shift odds before the match kicks off. Team news—injuries to key strikers, defensive absences, or surprise lineup changes—often triggers sharp repricing. Recent form, head-to-head history, and tactical adjustments announced by either manager can sway trader conviction. Weather conditions on match day, such as wind or rain affecting passing accuracy, may influence first-goal probability. Betting flow from sharp money or public sentiment can also drive price movement. As the match approaches, these signals compound, and once play begins, early possession or attacking intensity will likely prompt final adjustments from remaining open positions.
