This set of markets tracks how many touchdowns are caught by players from each team during a college football matchup. The outcome depends solely on the number of passes successfully turned into points by receivers, with specific thresholds defined for each team.
All markets resolve based on the total number of receiving touchdowns scored by either Northwestern or Indiana in their Sep 25, 2026 college football game, including any overtime periods. A receiving touchdown is counted only when the player who catches the pass scores himself; if another player recovers a fumble and scores, it does not count as a receiving touchdown, though a player recovering their own fumble and scoring does count. Successful two-point conversions, regardless of when they occur, are excluded from all totals. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, all markets remain open and resolve based on the final official result. If the game does not begin within 48 hours of its scheduled start, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all team trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd,' potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house biases or initial public perception. Sportsbooks typically set lines to balance betting action and ensure profit, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the likelihood of Indiana scoring a certain number of receiving touchdowns. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources or analytical approaches, and can present opportunities for arbitrage if you believe one venue has mispriced the outcome.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. The price of a contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective belief. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. This means that the price will move based on supply and demand, with increased buying pressure driving prices up and increased selling pressure driving them down, ultimately indicating the perceived likelihood of Indiana reaching a specific touchdown threshold.
This market resolves around Sep 26, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final statistics from the Northwestern vs Indiana football game are verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the number of receiving touchdowns scored by Indiana will be tallied from official game logs. The market will then pay out based on which outcome – the number of touchdowns – was accurately predicted by traders. The resolution will be based on official game data and not subject to interpretation.
Several factors could influence this market. Any news regarding injuries to key Indiana receivers or the Northwestern defensive secondary would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, especially conditions that favor passing or running, could also impact expectations. Furthermore, pre-game analysis from sports analysts and updated betting lines from sportsbooks might sway trader sentiment. Finally, any significant shifts in public perception, perhaps driven by social media discussions, could also contribute to changes in the prices within this market.
