Frequently asked questions

On Kalshi, the dashboard for the 1st Half Winner market tracks real-time odds, price history, and 24-hour volume of $628. It shows how traders on Kalshi are positioning around which team will lead at halftime, offering a dynamic view of market sentiment and liquidity up to Sep 12, 2026.

On Kalshi, this market reflects trader sentiment rather than traditional sportsbook lines. Prediction market odds adjust continuously based on real-time trading activity, allowing for dynamic shifts in perceived likelihood. Sportsbook odds, by contrast, are set by professional oddsmakers and may incorporate additional factors such as public betting trends and house margins. Because this market is driven purely by trader bets, its implied probabilities can diverge noticeably from sportsbook lines, especially as new game-specific information emerges or trading volume changes.

On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. On Kalshi, traders determine the price through active buying and selling of contracts representing each possible outcome. The current probability reflects the ratio of total contract value for each side, updated instantly with each trade. This continuous pricing mechanism means the market can react quickly to new data, such as player injuries or weather conditions, without the lag sometimes seen in traditional sportsbook adjustments. The resulting price offers a real-time snapshot of collective trader expectations.

This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The winner is determined by the official game results, specifically the score at halftime, and will be finalized shortly after the first half concludes.

Several key signals could shift this market before Sep 12, 2026. Major developments — such as starting lineups, weather updates, or in-game momentum swings — may cause rapid re-pricing as traders reassess probabilities. Injuries to key players or coaching decisions could also create volatility. Additionally, broader factors like media narratives or last-minute betting trends on Kalshi might influence trader sentiment and push the market price toward one outcome or the other as resolution approaches.
