On Polymarket and Kalshi, pricing mechanisms and user bases differ, creating variance. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For instance, one platform might attract more local fans, skewing its odds toward a favored team, while the other reflects a broader, international audience. Liquidity levels also play a role — lower volume can amplify price swings after major news or betting spikes.
