Frequently asked questions

Currently, prediction market odds often reflect a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to discrepancies, as the wisdom of the crowd on Polymarket may assign different probabilities than those set by professional oddsmakers. It's common to see differences arise due to varying information sources and risk assessments, especially early in the betting cycle. Examining both sets of odds can provide a more comprehensive view.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are purchased for a specific outcome, the price of those shares increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring, allowing traders to express their views and potentially profit if their predictions prove accurate. The current price reflects the collective assessment of all traders participating in this market.

This market resolves around Sep 15, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the NL: Davos versus SCL Tigers game within the Swiss National League playoffs. The platform will verify the outcome against publicly available and authoritative sources to determine the winning outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result and their shareholdings in the market.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries, team performance in preceding games, or changes in coaching strategies could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected upsets in other playoff matchups could also indirectly impact the perceived odds. Major announcements related to the teams or the league itself, such as rule changes or disciplinary actions, could also cause movement. Ultimately, any information that alters the perceived probability of either team winning will likely be reflected in the market price.
