This event group covers two distinct baseball games between the Nippon Ham Fighters and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The Polymarket contract resolves based on the outcome of an NPB professional game, while the Kalshi contracts resolve based on run totals from a specified college baseball game scheduled for the same date and time in 2026.
In the upcoming NPB game, scheduled for August 19 at 1:00AM ET: If the Nippon Ham Fighters win, the market will resolve to "Nippon Ham Fighters". If the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks win, the market will resolve to "Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, or ends in a tie, this market will resolve 50-50. The primary resolution source will be official information from the NPB. A consensus of credible reporting may also be used.
The market resolves to Yes if the Fukuoka Hawks and Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters collectively score more than the specified threshold (5.5, 7.5, 9.5, or 11.5 runs) in their College Baseball game scheduled for Aug 19, 2026 at 1:00 AM EDT. Each outcome corresponds to a different run total threshold, escalating the required offensive output. Price differences between Polymarket and Kalshi can stem from varying user bases, liquidity levels, and market design features. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. For example, Polymarket might attract more international traders, skewing its odds, while Kalshi could have tighter spreads due to lower fees. Additionally, each platform’s trading volume influences price discovery, so shifts in activity can cause divergence in implied probabilities for the same event.
Injuries, weather conditions, and recent performance trends can all shift this market as the game nears. Key moments such as starting lineups, pitcher or pitcher performance updates, and even day-of-game betting surges influence trader sentiment. Any last-minute roster changes or venue news may cause rapid adjustments in implied probabilities before the final whistle.
