Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through price discovery. This market's odds reflect what participants genuinely expect to happen, unfiltered by sportsbook margins or liability concerns. Comparing the two can reveal whether public betting sentiment differs from professional oddsmakers' assessments of the doubles match.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects its implied probability, with shares trading between 0 and 100 cents. As more traders bet on one pairing, the price adjusts upward; selling pressure moves it down. This continuous price discovery mechanism ensures the market reflects the latest information and sentiment about the doubles match.
This market resolves around Jul 14, 2026, once the doubles match concludes and the winner is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official result of the event. Until that time, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as new information emerges and match conditions become clearer.
Player form, recent tournament results, head-to-head records, and court surface performance are key catalysts that can shift odds before the match begins. Injury announcements or lineup changes involving any of the four competitors would likely trigger sharp price moves. Weather conditions, draw positioning, and momentum from earlier rounds at Newport can also influence trader expectations. Real-time match developments—if the market remains open during play—would drive additional volatility.
