Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets are driven by traders risking real capital on their beliefs. This market aggregates the views of many independent forecasters, which can sometimes reveal signals that traditional oddsmakers miss or adjust more slowly to breaking news.
On Predict, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each contract reflects the collective assessment of that outcome's probability, with higher prices indicating greater confidence. As new information emerges or trading volume shifts, prices adjust in real time to balance supply and demand.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the game concludes and the final result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official box score and final score recorded by Major League Baseball. Until that point, prices will fluctuate based on pre-game analysis, team news, and live betting sentiment.
Key catalysts include injury announcements, lineup changes, weather conditions at game time, and recent team performance trends. Starting pitcher matchups and bullpen availability often drive significant repricing. Breaking news about player health, trades, or roster adjustments can shift probabilities sharply. Live game developments—early runs, momentum swings, and in-game injuries—will also influence prices as traders update their forecasts in real time.
