This event determines which team leads after the first three innings of the July 7, 2026 game. Bettors can wager on either team winning the first three innings or the score being tied at that early point.
Resolution is based on the score at the end of the first 3 innings of the professional baseball game originally scheduled for July 7, 2026 at 6:40 PM EDT. If New York Y has more runs after 3 innings, the New York Y outcome resolves to Yes and others resolve to No. If Tampa Bay has more runs after 3 innings, the Tampa Bay outcome resolves to Yes and others resolve to No. If the score is tied after 3 innings, the Tie outcome resolves to Yes and all team outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game finishes within two days.
Prediction market odds on this market reflect real-time trader sentiment and are often more responsive to breaking news than traditional sportsbook lines. While sportsbooks set fixed odds based on statistical models and manage liability, prediction markets allow continuous price discovery as participants trade based on their own assessments. The Yankees-Rays first 3 innings outcome is typically less liquid than full-game markets, so prediction market prices may diverge from sportsbook offerings depending on trader activity and information flow closer to game time.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective probability assigned by active traders at any given moment. As new information surfaces—such as lineup announcements, weather updates, or injury reports—traders adjust their positions, and prices move accordingly. This continuous auction process ensures the market price incorporates the latest available data about early-game performance.
This market resolves around Jul 8, 2026, once the first three innings of the Yankees-Rays game are complete and the final score for that period is verified. The outcome is determined by which team holds the lead after three full innings have been played. Resolution is confirmed once the result is verifiable from credible public reporting of the game. Early closure or postponement would be handled according to Kalshi's standard event rules.
Several factors can shift odds before the game begins and during the first three innings. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmations, and last-minute roster changes often trigger significant price movement. Weather conditions at the stadium, recent team performance trends, and head-to-head matchup history also influence trader positioning. Once play starts, early runs, defensive plays, and pitching effectiveness in the opening frames drive real-time repricing. Injury updates or unexpected managerial decisions can create sudden volatility in this market.
