PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Polymarket presents a unified three-outcome market (Mets/Blue Jays/Draw), while Kalshi's source data lists three separate Yes/No conditions without clarifying whether they are three distinct markets or a single market with unclear settlement logic.Hero tip: Verify with Kalshi whether the three listed conditions represent three separate mutually-exclusive markets or a single market with ambiguous resolution. On Polymarket, you are trading one three-way outcome; confirm the same on Kalshi before trading. Monitor for postponements—both platforms require completion of the 5th inning, which may occur on a makeup date.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: Single unified three-outcome market: resolves to Mets, Blue Jays, or Draw based on score at end of 5th inning. Postponed games remain open until 5th inning is completed; canceled games with no makeup resolve 50-50. Primary source is official MLB statistics; credible reporting consensus used if official stats unavailable within 24 hours.
  • Kalshi: Three separate Yes/No conditions listed (Mets win first 5 innings, Toronto wins first 5 innings, tie in first 5 innings), each described as resolving to Yes. Logically, only one outcome can occur; unclear whether these are three distinct markets or a single market with confusing presentation.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets like Polymarket and Kalshi operate on peer-to-peer trading rather than fixed sportsbook lines. Traders directly set odds by buying and selling shares, which means prices reflect live consensus rather than a bookmaker's margin. Sportsbooks typically adjust lines to balance action and lock in profit; prediction markets adjust continuously as new information emerges. For early-inning outcomes like this one, prediction markets often react faster to lineup changes, weather, or injury reports, making them a useful complement to traditional sportsbook pricing.

Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Platform design, user base, and liquidity pools shape how each exchange prices the same event. Polymarket attracts traders focused on binary outcomes and may see heavier volume on one side, while Kalshi's regulatory framework and participant mix can produce different equilibrium prices. Arbitrage opportunities between the two platforms are typically small but real; sharp traders exploit these gaps, gradually aligning prices over time. Monitoring both venues helps you identify when one platform is mispricing relative to the other.

Lineup announcements, starting pitcher confirmation, and weather conditions are primary catalysts before first pitch. During the game itself, early runs, defensive plays, and pitching changes in the first five innings will drive sharp repricing. Injuries to key batters or pitchers can swing odds significantly. Trades or roster moves announced before game time may also shift expectations. Real-time score updates flow directly into trader decisions, so any momentum shift—a home run, a strikeout streak, or a pitching change—typically triggers immediate order flow and price movement.
