Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets like this one aggregate beliefs from traders risking real capital on the outcome. This market's odds may lead or lag sportsbook lines depending on information flow and trader positioning. Comparing the two can reveal where professional bettors and prediction market participants disagree on the likelihood of early-inning developments in the Mets-Braves game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares tied to each possible outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the marginal trade—the last executed transaction—and moves as new orders flow in. Traders who believe the market is underpricing or overpricing an outcome can buy or sell accordingly, pushing the price toward equilibrium. This continuous repricing ensures the odds remain responsive to new information and trader conviction right up until the market closes.
This market resolves around Jul 5, 2026, once the first three innings of the Mets-Braves game are complete and the final score for that period is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the run totals and which team leads after exactly three innings of play. No further action or scoring in later innings affects the resolution. Traders should monitor official game reporting to confirm the result.
Several factors can shift odds before the game begins and during the first three innings. Lineup announcements, injury reports, or bullpen availability updates may alter trader expectations about early scoring. Weather conditions at the stadium can influence ball carry and offensive output. During play, each run scored, base hit, or pitching change generates new information that traders immediately price in. Late-breaking news about player status or unexpected managerial decisions can also trigger sharp moves. The market remains most volatile in the hours before first pitch and during the opening innings themselves.
