Divergence Detected

Issue: Cancellation handling and resolution source prioritization differ across platforms.Hero tip: Be mindful of the cancellation risk, especially on Polymarket where a canceled game resolves markets to 'No'.

Critical divergence points:

  • Polymarket: If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve "No". The primary resolution source is official statistics, with Flashscore and Sofascore as fallbacks.
  • Kalshi: Markets resolve to Yes if either team wins or if the game ends in a tie. No specific cancellation rule is provided.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often differ from traditional sportsbook odds due to the nature of how each is determined. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by the collective predictions of individuals who have 'skin in the game,' incentivizing accuracy. This can lead to more efficient price discovery and, potentially, more accurate probabilities. While sportsbooks may reflect public sentiment, prediction markets often represent a more informed consensus, and can sometimes identify discrepancies in sportsbook pricing.
