This event group tracks which team will score the first goal in the upcoming match between New York City FC and Nashville SC, including the possibility of no goals being scored within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time.
In the upcoming match between New York City FC and Nashville SC, scheduled for September 4, 2026 at 7:30 PM ET: This market will resolve to "New York City FC" if New York City FC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. This market will resolve to "Nashville SC" if Nashville SC are the first to score within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. If neither team scores within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time, this market will resolve "Neither". If the game is postponed, this market will remain open until the game has been completed. If the game is canceled entirely, with no make-up game, this market will resolve to "Neither". This market refers only to the outcome within the first 90 minutes of regular play plus stoppage time. Extra time and penalty shoot-outs are excluded. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, data from Flashscore may be used; if Flashscore data is unavailable, data from Sofascore may be used; if neither is available, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead. All markets will settle based on the official final result as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. Revisions to officially declared final scores made after market resolution will not be accounted for in determining the outcome.
These markets assess whether the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of the designated football game exceed various thresholds. Each market has a unique threshold, ranging from just over 3.5 points to more than 24.5 points. The resolution for each market is determined solely by the combined score achieved in the first quarter, with no consideration for points scored in subsequent quarters. All markets operate independently, meaning the outcome of one does not affect the others. The official game must proceed as scheduled for the markets to resolve; any postponement or cancellation will lead to all markets being settled as 'No.'
On Polymarket, this market shows a consensus that aligns with recent team form and injury updates. Sportsbook odds, however, often factor in broader public sentiment and historical performance trends. The difference between the two can be notable, especially when key players are questionable. Prediction market odds reflect real-time trader activity and may shift rapidly with new information, while sportsbooks adjust less frequently. Traders watch both sets of odds to spot potential value gaps. For this market, the spread between prediction market and sportsbook lines could hint at where the most informed betting is happening. Overall, the two systems offer complementary views of team prospects.
Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Market design and user bases drive the gap. Polymarket often attracts traders focused on sharp, data-driven signals, while Kalshi may draw a broader audience with different risk appetites. Liquidity differences also play a role — lower volume can amplify price swings. For this market, Polymarket and Kalshi have unique listing structures that affect how traders engage. Additionally, each platform’s fee model influences participation, which can skew prices. These dynamics create natural divergence, letting traders compare outcomes across venues for arbitrage or insight.
Injuries, weather conditions, and recent form can all shift this market as the match nears. Key moments like starting lineups, tactical changes, or early momentum swings may cause rapid probability adjustments. Traders will watch pre-game news and in-game developments closely, as each update can reshape expectations about who will score first.
