This market tracks which team will score the first touchdown in an upcoming professional football game between New Orleans and Detroit. It covers all types of touchdowns, including those scored by offense, defense, or special teams, and includes any scoring that occurs in overtime. If neither team scores a touchdown at all, a separate outcome accounts for that scenario.
The market resolves based on which team scores the first touchdown in the New Orleans vs Detroit Pro Football game originally scheduled for September 13, 2026, with all types of touchdowns—including offensive, defensive, and special teams—counting toward the outcome. If the first touchdown occurs in overtime, the respective team’s market resolves to Yes. Should neither team score a touchdown during the entire game, including overtime, the “No team scores a TD” market resolves to Yes. Postponements that commence within 48 hours of the original start time do not affect resolution, which will instead follow the official final result. If the game fails to start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi explicitly disclaims any affiliation with the governing league, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders set the odds by buying and selling contracts. Each contract represents a 100-cent probability of an outcome occurring. As more people buy contracts for a particular team, the price of those contracts increases, reflecting a higher perceived probability of that team scoring first. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, and the market efficiently aggregates information from a diverse group of participants. Currently, the market indicates a strong likelihood of one team taking an early lead.
This market resolves around Sep 13, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The determination will be based on which team officially scores the first touchdown according to the official game statistics. The official scoring play will be the deciding factor, and any disputes will be resolved using standard football rules and official game records. The platform will verify the result against trusted sources to ensure accuracy and transparency for all participants in this market.
Several factors could significantly influence this market. Key player injuries to either team’s offensive stars, particularly the quarterback or primary running back, would likely cause substantial shifts in probabilities. Unexpected weather conditions, such as heavy rain or strong winds, could also impact the offensive strategies of both teams and affect scoring opportunities. Late-breaking news regarding team morale or coaching decisions could also play a role. Finally, any significant changes in public perception or expert analysis could drive trading activity and move the market.
