These markets focus on predicting the outcome of the fourth quarter in a college football game between New Mexico and Oklahoma. Each market specifies a different point margin threshold that must be exceeded by either team to resolve as 'Yes'.
The markets resolve based on the point differential in the fourth quarter (excluding overtime) of the New Mexico vs Oklahoma college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. For markets where Oklahoma must win by a specified margin (e.g., over 10.5, 7.5, 6.5, 5.5, 3.5, or 2.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes' only if Oklahoma's lead at the end of the fourth quarter exceeds that margin. Conversely, for markets where New Mexico must win by a specified margin (e.g., over 2.5, 3.5, 6.5, 7.5, or 10.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes' only if New Mexico's lead at the end of the fourth quarter exceeds that margin. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the fourth quarter count toward these markets; overtime points are excluded.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows anyone to trade based on their own analysis. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook lines, it may indicate differing opinions on the likely game outcome or potential biases in either pricing mechanism. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived using different methods.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract reflects the probability of that spread occurring in the fourth quarter of the game. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment of the market. Essentially, the price indicates how much it costs to take one side of the bet, with higher prices suggesting lower probability and vice versa.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final point spread of the fourth quarter of the New Mexico vs Oklahoma game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders holding contracts on the correct spread will receive a payout, while those on the incorrect spread will forfeit their investment. The final score will determine which contracts settle at 100, and which settle at zero.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the New Mexico or Oklahoma teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also shift the market. Furthermore, any late-breaking news about team strategy or coaching decisions could impact trader sentiment and lead to price fluctuations. Public perception and betting trends, as reflected in sportsbook lines, may also exert some influence on this market.
