These markets evaluate how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football game between NC State and Vanderbilt. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the NC State vs Vanderbilt college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), the market resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) count toward resolution.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their risk, incorporating a profit margin, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs about the likelihood of the outcome. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. Often, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional polls or expert analyses in forecasting event outcomes, as they incentivize participants to be well-informed and express their true beliefs.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the event occurring. For example, a contract trading at 60 means there's a 60% implied probability of the 4th quarter total points exceeding 12.5. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust their bids and asks based on their own analysis and expectations, creating a dynamic price that reflects the collective forecast. The more traders believe an outcome is likely, the higher the contract price will climb.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter of the NC State vs Vanderbilt game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, determining whether the total points scored in the 4th quarter were over or under 12.5. All contracts will then be settled based on this verified result, with winning contracts paying out $1.00 per contract and losing contracts expiring worthless.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either NC State or Vanderbilt would likely cause movement, as this impacts scoring potential. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to affect the passing or running game, could also shift predictions. Late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might also play a role. Finally, significant betting activity or large volume trades on Kalshi itself can influence the price, reflecting shifts in trader sentiment.
