Description

This market will resolve in favor of the player that finishes the 2026-27 NBA regular season with the highest Player Efficiency Rating (PER) among qualified players. If the leader is not a listed player, the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". Player Efficiency Rating (PER) is the per-minute productivity rating developed by John Hollinger, as calculated and published for the 2026-27 NBA regular season by Basketball-Reference.com. To qualify, a player must appear in at least 58 regular-season games. Only 2026-27 NBA regular-season games count. NBA Cup group-play and knockout games other than the NBA Cup Championship game are regular-season games and count. Statistics from the preseason, the NBA Cup Championship game, the Play-In Tournament, the playoffs and the All-Star Game are excluded. If a player plays for more than one team during the season, his statistics from all teams are combined. In the event of a tie for the highest PER (to one decimal place as published), this market will resolve in favor of the tied player with more Win Shares during the 2026-27 NBA regular season, as published by Basketball-Reference.com. If a tie still persists, each tied player's market will resolve to "No" and the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". If the 2026-27 NBA regular season concludes early, is shortened, or is truncated for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available statistics for completed games, with the games-played requirement reduced to 70 percent of the games each player's team completed, rounded up. If the 2026-27 NBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after April 25, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it is unclear which qualified player led the NBA in PER within that timeframe, each listed player's market will resolve to "No" and the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". The resolution source for this market will be Basketball-Reference.com (https://www.basketball-reference.com/); however, if Basketball-Reference.com is unavailable, a consensus of credible statistical sources that publish PER by the same formula, such as ESPN, may be used.

Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, while this market allows traders to directly assess the probability of each player becoming the NBA PER leader. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities. While sportsbooks may initially favor well-known players, this market can quickly adjust based on new information, injuries, or shifts in player performance. It’s common to see discrepancies emerge as the season unfolds, offering potential arbitrage opportunities for informed traders.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each player’s chance of leading the league in PER. The price of each share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, creating a dynamic and efficient forecast. The market’s price movements are driven by supply and demand, with higher demand pushing prices up and lower demand pushing them down. This creates a real-time assessment of the most likely PER leader.

This market resolves around Apr 26, 2027, with the outcome confirmed once the NBA PER leader is verified against credible public reporting. The official NBA standings and PER statistics, as published by the NBA’s official website or a widely recognized sports statistics provider, will determine the winner. The player with the highest PER at the end of the 2026-27 NBA regular season will be declared the winner of this market. It’s important to note that any tiebreakers will be resolved based on the official NBA rules for determining the PER leader.

Several factors could significantly impact this market. Player injuries are a major catalyst, as the absence of a key contender would drastically alter the odds. Unexpected trades could also shift the landscape, introducing new players into the mix or weakening existing contenders. Strong or poor performance early in the season will undoubtedly influence trader sentiment, causing prices to fluctuate. Any news regarding player health, coaching changes, or team dynamics could also move this market. Monitoring these signals will be crucial for traders looking to capitalize on opportunities before Apr 26, 2027.
