Resolves Apr 25, 2027

This market will resolve in favor of the player that finishes the 2026-27 NBA regular season with the highest blocks per game average among qualified players. If the leader is not a listed player, the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". To qualify, a player must meet the NBA's minimum requirements for its official 2026-27 regular-season per-game leaderboard (a player who appears in at least 58 regular-season games qualifies), applied exactly as reflected on NBA.com/stats. Only 2026-27 NBA regular-season games count. NBA Cup group-play and knockout games other than the NBA Cup Championship game are regular-season games and count. Statistics from the preseason, the NBA Cup Championship game, the Play-In Tournament, the playoffs and the All-Star Game are excluded. If a player plays for more than one team during the season, his statistics from all teams are combined. In the event of a tie for the highest blocks per game average, this market will resolve in favor of the tied player with more total blocks during the 2026-27 NBA regular season. If a tie still persists, each tied player's market will resolve to "No" and the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". If the 2026-27 NBA regular season concludes early, is shortened, or is truncated for any reason, the outcome shall be determined using available NBA statistics for completed games, with leaderboard qualification applied as the NBA applies it to the shortened season. If the 2026-27 NBA regular season is cancelled, postponed after April 25, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, or it is unclear which player led the NBA in blocks per game within that timeframe, each listed player's market will resolve to "No" and the "Other" market will resolve to "Yes". The resolution source for this market will be official information from the NBA, including NBA.com/stats; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Generally, prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and risk assessment, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially early in the season, as prediction markets can react more quickly to new information and shifts in public opinion regarding potential contenders for the blocks leader title. However, as the season progresses, the odds on Polymarket may converge with sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, the price of shares in this market is determined by supply and demand. Traders actively buy 'yes' shares if they believe a player will lead the league in blocks, and 'no' shares if they don't. The price of these shares fluctuates based on the volume of buying and selling, effectively creating a probability distribution across all potential outcomes. Higher demand for a player’s shares increases their price, signaling greater confidence in their ability to achieve the feat. This mechanism allows the market to aggregate diverse opinions and generate a forecast.
This market resolves around Apr 26, 2027, following the conclusion of the 2026-27 NBA regular season. The outcome will be determined by the player officially recognized by the NBA as having the highest average blocks per game. The NBA’s official statistics will be used to verify the winner, and the resolution will be confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Any ties will be resolved according to the NBA’s official tie-breaking procedures, if applicable, as documented on the league’s website.
Numerous events could shift the probabilities in this market as the 2026-27 NBA season unfolds. Pre-season training camp reports and initial game performances will provide early indications of player form and potential block rates. Major injuries to prominent shot-blockers will undoubtedly cause significant price adjustments. Mid-season trades sending players to different teams with varying defensive schemes could also have a substantial impact. Finally, any news regarding rule changes that affect interior defense or offensive strategies targeting the paint could influence how traders assess each player’s chances.
