Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often incorporating information and perspectives not fully captured by traditional sportsbooks. While sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, this market allows anyone to trade based on their own insights. This can lead to differences in probabilities, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or changes in team conditions than traditional betting venues.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular team, the price increases, reflecting a higher perceived chance of them scoring first. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is entirely driven by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket.
