Frequently asked questions

Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and need to account for profit margins, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs. If a significant number of people believe one outcome is more likely than sportsbooks suggest, the odds on Polymarket will shift accordingly. This can sometimes create opportunities for value betting, where the prediction market offers more favorable odds than available elsewhere for the same event.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each possible outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who buy shares in a particular outcome, the higher its price will climb, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading it, offering a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team winning the second half.

This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The result will be determined by which team—Mortágua FC or Leça FC—wins the second half of the match. The platform will rely on official match results to verify the winner, ensuring a transparent and accurate resolution process. Traders will be able to claim their winnings based on the final, verified outcome of the second half.

Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Mortágua FC or Leça FC could significantly shift the odds. Tactical changes announced by either team’s manager, or even weather conditions on match day, could also impact trader sentiment. Unexpected in-game events during the first half, such as a red card or a significant goal, are likely to cause rapid price adjustments on Polymarket as traders react to the evolving situation and reassess the probabilities.
