Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents what traders believe will actually happen. It's common to see this market odds move closer to the event outcome as more information becomes available, potentially outperforming sportsbook lines, especially if the sportsbook initially misprices the event. Polls and analysts’ predictions frequently align more closely with the probabilities expressed in this market than with initial sportsbook odds.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective prediction. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand; if more people believe Fiona Ferro will win, the price of shares representing her victory will increase, and vice versa for Lucie Havlickova. This creates a dynamic and real-time assessment of the likely winner.
This market resolves around Sep 18, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting.
