Often, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market reflects the aggregate wisdom of crowd predictions. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, biases, or simply the unique dynamics of each venue. If you observe a significant difference between the odds here and those offered by sportsbooks, it could indicate that the crowd believes the sportsbook is mispricing the probability of a particular outcome.
On Predict, this market is priced through a continuous process of buying and selling shares representing different outcomes. Traders set the odds by placing bids and asks, and the market price adjusts dynamically based on supply and demand. On Predict, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the traders on Predict. As more people trade, the market price converges towards a collective prediction, providing a real-time assessment of the event's likelihood.
