Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market allows participants to directly express their beliefs about the outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook implied probabilities, it could indicate differing expert opinions or information advantages held by traders. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities and are subject to change based on new information and betting activity.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts to reflect the collective prediction. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current implied probability of a particular outcome is determined by the share price, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived likelihood. The total volume traded influences price discovery, but ultimately, individual traders set the price through their buy and sell orders.

This market resolves around Sep 24, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the MODUS Super Series match between Panagiotis Chrysospathis and Pete Hughes. The platform will rely on publicly available sources to determine the winner, ensuring a transparent and verifiable outcome. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings or adjust their strategies based on the final result. The resolution process is designed to be objective and based on established facts.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before Sep 24, 2026. Any news regarding player form, injuries, or changes in strategy could significantly shift trader sentiment. Unexpected announcements about match conditions or potential rule changes could also impact predictions. Public opinion, as reflected in polls or expert analysis, might also play a role, although the market is primarily driven by traders’ own assessments. Major upsets in other related matches or tournaments could also indirectly affect the perceived probabilities, leading to price fluctuations.
