Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective that differs from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set initial lines to balance action, and may incorporate biases or marketing considerations. This market, however, is driven purely by individuals putting their capital at risk based on their own analysis. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can express that view in this market, potentially causing a divergence. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes, especially when information is sparse or subjective.
