Typically, prediction market odds offer a distinct perspective compared to traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, reflecting their profit margin. This market, being driven by the collective wisdom of traders, tends to reflect probabilities more closely aligned with true underlying chances, though discrepancies can and do occur. It's common to see prediction markets outperform sportsbook odds in accuracy, especially when a significant amount of volume is traded, as information aggregates efficiently among participants. However, sportsbook odds can still provide a useful benchmark for comparison.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a specific outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of expectations for the MODUS Super Series darts match. The current price indicates what traders are collectively willing to pay for a share representing the outcome, effectively translating belief into a quantifiable value.
This market resolves around Sep 11, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result declared by the MODUS Super Series organizers following the completion of the match between Dmitrii Rogov and Martyn Turner. The platform will then determine the winning outcome based on this official result, and shares will be settled accordingly. This ensures a transparent and verifiable process for determining the market's resolution.
