These markets evaluate how many points are scored in the first quarter of a college football game between Missouri State and SMU. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored, and the outcome depends on whether the combined score exceeds that threshold.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of the Missouri St. vs SMU college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. For each market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, 7.5 points, etc.), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which are set by professional oddsmakers. Sportsbooks frequently incorporate factors like public betting percentages and risk management into their lines, while this market relies on individuals forecasting the outcome. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Comparing the two can offer valuable insights into public sentiment and potential value opportunities, though it's important to remember they represent different approaches to forecasting the result.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 1st quarter total. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived likelihood. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders can set their own prices, creating a dynamic market that adapts to new information and changing opinions. The market efficiently incorporates information as traders react to news, injuries, or other relevant factors influencing the game's potential score.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the total points scored in the first quarter of the Missouri St. vs. SMU game will be used to determine the winning contracts. The official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data provider, will serve as the basis for resolution. Traders will be able to see the final result reflected in their account balances shortly after the game concludes and the official score is finalized.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries on either the Missouri St. or SMU teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might influence trader sentiment. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create short-term price fluctuations as traders adjust their positions based on new information or analysis.
