These markets evaluate how many points will be scored in the second half of a college football game between Mississippi State and South Carolina. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored, determining whether the outcome meets or exceeds that benchmark.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined in the second half (including overtime) of the Mississippi St. vs South Carolina college football game scheduled for Sep 19, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined second-half points exceed the threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored during the second half and overtime count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds to ensure profitability, while Kalshi allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities. Generally, prediction markets are thought to be more accurate forecasters of events than traditional polls or analysts, as they aggregate the wisdom of the crowd and incentivize accurate predictions through potential financial gain. Examining both can offer a more comprehensive view.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction, meaning traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the total points scored in the second half will be over or under a certain number. The price of these contracts fluctuates based on supply and demand, directly reflecting the collective expectations of the traders. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The closer the event gets, the more the price will likely move as new information becomes available and traders refine their predictions. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to create a real-time probability assessment.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the second half of the Mississippi State versus South Carolina game will be used to determine whether the 'over' or 'under' contracts will pay out. It’s important to note that the official game statistics will be the source for determining the final score, ensuring a transparent and verifiable resolution process for all participants in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Mississippi State or South Carolina would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Additionally, in-game performance during the first half, such as a dominant offensive showing by one team, could lead traders to adjust their expectations for the second half total, impacting the price of contracts on Kalshi.
