These markets evaluate different thresholds of points scored by both teams combined during the second quarter of a college football game. Each threshold represents a specific point total that, if exceeded, determines the outcome of that particular market.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the second quarter of the Minnesota vs Washington college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. For each market, if the combined second-quarter points exceed the specified threshold (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points), the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Only points scored during the second quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from sportsbook odds which can be influenced by factors like house bias or initial public perception. Sportsbooks set lines to balance betting action, while this market relies on individuals directly expressing their beliefs about the likely outcome. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before significant events or when new information emerges. Analyzing these differences can provide valuable insights into where the crowd and professional oddsmakers diverge in their assessments.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 2nd quarter total. The price of a contract indicates the probability of that specific total occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market depth, visible on the dashboard, shows the available contracts at different price points, giving an indication of the strength of conviction behind various predictions. Traders aim to profit by accurately forecasting the outcome and capitalizing on price movements.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 2nd quarter between Minnesota and Washington is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by the league. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the actual 2nd quarter total will receive a payout, while those holding contracts predicting a different total will not. The exact payout amount will depend on the price of the contract at the time of resolution.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Minnesota or Washington would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, particularly if they are expected to impact scoring, could also shift the market. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first quarter, or even pre-game reports on team strategies, could lead to adjustments in predictions. Unexpected line-up changes or late-breaking news about player availability are also potential catalysts for price fluctuations in this market.
