These markets track the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of a college football game between Minnesota and Washington. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to resolve as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the first quarter of the Minnesota vs Washington college football game scheduled for September 26, 2026. For any market, if the combined score exceeds the specified threshold (e.g., 2.5, 5.5, up to 27.5 points), it resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. Only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market’s price is driven purely by individuals willing to buy or sell contracts based on their beliefs about the outcome. This can lead to prediction markets being more accurate than traditional odds, especially as the event approaches and more information becomes available. However, discrepancies can exist due to differing risk appetites and information access between prediction market participants and sportsbook bettors.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the total points scored in the first quarter will be over or under 12.5. The price of these contracts reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price moves based on supply and demand; if more people believe the total will be over 12.5, the price of 'over' contracts will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing allows for a real-time assessment of expectations.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the official scoring data from the Minnesota vs Washington game's first quarter will be used to determine whether the total points scored exceeded or fell short of 12.5. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, ensuring a transparent and verifiable result. Traders holding contracts on the correct side of the outcome will receive a payout of $1.00 per contract.
Several factors could influence this market before the game concludes. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either the Minnesota or Washington teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather conditions, such as strong winds or heavy rain, could also impact scoring expectations. Furthermore, any significant pre-game analysis from respected sports analysts predicting a high or low-scoring first quarter could sway market sentiment. Finally, large volume trades on Kalshi itself can create momentum and shift the price.
