These markets track the defensive performance of both teams in an upcoming football game by counting how many times each team successfully sacks the opposing quarterback. The outcomes depend on whether specific sack thresholds are met during the game.
All markets resolve based on the official number of sacks recorded by each team during the Minnesota vs Tampa Bay Pro Football game scheduled for September 27, 2026. Sacks recorded during 2-point conversion attempts are excluded from all counts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Each market has a specific threshold for each team (e.g., 2+, 3+, up to 6+ sacks), and resolves to 'Yes' if the team's total sacks meet or exceed that threshold. The markets are independent of each other, with each threshold representing a separate condition for resolution.
Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders on Kalshi, aims to represent the true probability of an event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, this market evolves as new information emerges and traders adjust their positions. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions, information advantages, or simply the dynamics of supply and demand within the prediction market.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different outcomes for the total number of sacks. The price of each contract reflects the market’s assessment of the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time estimate of expectations. The market depth, displayed on the dashboard, shows the volume of contracts available at various price points, indicating the strength of conviction behind different predictions.
This market resolves around Sep 27, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final number of sacks in the Minnesota vs Tampa Bay game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data provider, will determine the total sacks for settlement purposes. Traders who correctly predicted the total sacks will receive a payout based on the final price of their contracts at resolution. The market will close prior to the game's completion to prevent any last-minute influence from the live event.
Several factors could influence the price movement of this market. Injury reports for key offensive linemen or defensive players on either team would be significant catalysts. Any news regarding changes in coaching strategies or defensive schemes could also shift expectations. Unexpected weather conditions, such as strong winds or rain, might affect passing plays and, consequently, sack opportunities. Furthermore, the performance of both quarterbacks in previous games and their tendencies under pressure could drive trading activity, as traders react to new information and adjust their predictions accordingly.
