Cody Bellinger's home run output in the Minnesota vs New York Yankees game on July 3, 2026 will be counted. A home run is credited when a batter hits the ball over the outfield fence or otherwise scores without the ball being fielded.
Settlement depends on Cody Bellinger's participation and plate appearance status. If Bellinger is scratched or excluded from the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If he starts but does not record a plate appearance, it resolves to fair market price. Pinch-hit at-bats do not count toward this market. The market will only settle based on actual home runs recorded if Bellinger is in the starting lineup and records at least one plate appearance during the game.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market may show different implied probabilities than traditional sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges closer to game time. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value that bookmakers have priced differently.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through an order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different home run outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of active traders, with bids and asks converging toward equilibrium as new information arrives. Higher prices indicate stronger crowd confidence in that outcome, while lower prices suggest skepticism. You can place limit or market orders to enter or exit your position at any time before the market closes.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the game concludes and the final home run total is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual number of home runs hit by both teams combined during the matchup. Your position will be settled based on which outcome bracket the final count falls into, with payouts distributed automatically once the result is confirmed and the market officially closes.
Key catalysts include lineup announcements, injury reports affecting star hitters, weather forecasts that influence ball carry distance, and recent performance trends for both teams' offenses. Trades or roster moves closer to game day can shift expectations around offensive firepower. As the game approaches, real-time updates—such as starting pitcher confirmations or weather changes—often trigger sharp price movements. Early game action itself can also influence this market if one team jumps out to an early lead or demonstrates unexpected offensive strength.
