This baseball market measures the run margin between Milwaukee and St. Louis during the first five innings of their July 6, 2026 game, allowing bettors to wager on whether one team will lead by more than a specified number of runs.
Resolution is determined by the run margin at the end of the first 5 innings of the professional baseball game originally scheduled for July 6, 2026 at 7:45 PM EDT. St. Louis outcomes resolve to Yes if St. Louis leads by more than the specified run margin (1.5 or 2.5 runs) after 5 innings. Milwaukee outcomes resolve to Yes if Milwaukee leads by more than the specified run margin (1.5 or 2.5 runs) after 5 innings. If the score is tied after 5 innings, all spread outcomes resolve to No. If the game is postponed or delayed, the market remains open and closes after the rescheduled game finishes within two days.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders risking real capital on their forecasts. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper, more efficient pricing because participants have direct financial exposure to accuracy. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from professional oddsmaking, though both should be evaluated independently for your decision-making.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective belief of active traders about whether Milwaukee will win the first five innings by over 1.5 runs. As new information emerges—injury reports, weather updates, or betting activity—the price adjusts in real time. Traders profit by accurately predicting the outcome, which incentivizes informed pricing and reduces the influence of casual speculation.
This market resolves around Jul 7, 2026, once the first five innings of the Milwaukee versus St. Louis game are complete. The outcome is determined by the final score differential after five full innings, verified against credible public sources. If Milwaukee's run total exceeds St. Louis's by more than 1.5 runs at that point, the yes outcome prevails; otherwise, no wins. Resolution is automatic once the game data is confirmed and the market closes.
Several factors can shift odds before the game starts and during the first five innings. Lineup announcements, starting pitcher changes, and injury updates often trigger sharp price moves. Weather conditions—wind speed and direction, temperature—can significantly affect early scoring. Betting action from sharp money or public syndicates can also drive prices. Once play begins, runs scored, baserunning mistakes, and pitching performance in real time will cause rapid repricing as traders update their forecasts based on live game dynamics.
