Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on the collective wisdom of traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can express that view by trading on Polymarket, potentially driving the price away from the sportsbook’s initial offering. This difference can be particularly noticeable when public perception deviates from expert analysis, or when new information emerges that isn’t immediately reflected in sportsbook lines.
