Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Price discrepancies between Polymarket and Kalshi on this market can arise from several factors. Each platform has a different user base, trading volume, and liquidity, which influences price formation. Additionally, the specific contract design and the fees associated with trading on each platform can create variations. While both platforms currently favor Middlesbrough winning, the degree of confidence, as reflected in the probabilities, may not be identical due to these differing market dynamics and user participation. The volume on Polymarket is currently higher, potentially indicating greater conviction there.
