This market assesses how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football matchup, allowing participants to speculate on the game's intensity in the last period. The outcome depends solely on the points tallied during the fourth quarter, excluding any overtime periods.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the fourth quarter of the designated college football game, excluding overtime. If the collective points exceed the specified threshold for any given market (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points), that market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in the fourth quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Generally, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individuals trading contracts. If a significant number of traders believe the actual total points will be higher or lower than the sportsbook's initial offering, the price of contracts in this market will move accordingly, potentially offering a different value than traditional sports betting options. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast outcomes as event time approaches.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 4th quarter total points in the Michigan State vs Notre Dame game. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders buy contracts predicting a specific outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism reflects the collective intelligence of the market participants.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final total points scored in the 4th quarter of the Michigan State vs Notre Dame game will be used to determine whether the ‘Over’ or ‘Under’ contracts will pay out. All contracts will settle based on this official result, providing a clear and transparent outcome for all traders involved in this market.
Several factors could influence the price of contracts in this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Michigan State or Notre Dame would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, especially if they suggest conditions favoring a high- or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, any major shifts in public perception or expert analysis regarding the teams’ offensive or defensive capabilities could drive price fluctuations in this market.
