These markets evaluate various scoring thresholds for the first half of a college football game between Michigan State and Notre Dame. Each threshold represents a different level of scoring performance, allowing participants to assess the likelihood of the combined points exceeding specific benchmarks.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the first half of the Michigan St. vs Notre Dame college football game scheduled for Sep 19, 2026. Each market has a unique threshold, ranging from over 2.5 points to over 44.5 points. If the combined first-half score exceeds the specified threshold for a given market, it resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. Postponements are accounted for: if the game starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored in the first half count toward resolution.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance action, while this market allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own analysis and information. If there's a significant discrepancy, it may indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, and differences can arise due to varying information and perspectives.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different possible outcomes for the first half total. The price of a contract reflects the market's collective belief about the probability of that outcome occurring. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust accordingly, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The market operates on a 0 to 100 cents scale, where 100 cents represents a 100% probability of the outcome occurring.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the official first half total score of the Michigan State vs Notre Dame game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics as reported by a trusted source. Traders holding contracts corresponding to the correct first half total will receive a payout of 100 cents per contract, while those holding contracts on incorrect outcomes will receive nothing. The final score will be the determining factor for settlement.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before resolution. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Michigan State or Notre Dame teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring one team's offensive style, could also impact trading activity. Furthermore, any late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions might lead traders to reassess their probabilities, shifting the market prices accordingly. Public sentiment and analysis from sports commentators could also play a role.
