The outcome depends on how many times each team successfully tackles the opposing quarterback behind the line of scrimmage during their scheduled game. Higher thresholds represent more aggressive performance expectations for either Miami or San Francisco's defense.
All markets resolve based on the official number of sacks recorded by each team during the Pro Football game between Miami and San Francisco scheduled for September 20, 2026, excluding any sacks made during 2-point conversion attempts. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of its original time, markets remain open and resolve according to the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Each market has a specific threshold (ranging from 2 to 6 sacks) for each team; if the team's total meets or exceeds its threshold, that market resolves to Yes, otherwise No.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from those offered by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance their action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market represents the aggregate beliefs of informed traders. If prediction market prices significantly diverge from sportsbook odds, it may suggest that traders possess information or insights not fully captured by the sportsbook. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, but are derived through different mechanisms and may appeal to different types of bettors.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the outcome. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, with higher prices indicating a greater perceived chance. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders are constantly adjusting their bids and asks based on new information and their own analysis, leading to dynamic price discovery. The market efficiently incorporates diverse perspectives, resulting in a probability assessment that may differ from pre-game expectations or expert opinions.
This market resolves around Sep 20, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final number of sacks in the Miami versus San Francisco game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The official game statistics, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will determine whether the total sacks exceed or fall short of the threshold defined by the market. The resolution will reflect the actual number of sacks recorded during the game, providing a clear and objective outcome for this market.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Injury reports for key offensive linemen on either team would be significant, as they directly impact pass protection and the likelihood of sacks. Changes in weather conditions, such as strong winds or rain, could also affect passing offenses and, consequently, the number of sacks. Unexpected news regarding team strategies or coaching decisions could also shift trader sentiment. Finally, any late-breaking information about player matchups or defensive schemes could lead to adjustments in pricing as traders react to the latest developments.
