Nick Kurtz's ability to drive in runs during the Miami vs Oakland Athletics game on July 3, 2026 will be tracked. An RBI is credited when a batter's action results in a runner scoring, with certain exceptions for errors and double plays.
Nick Kurtz must be in the starting lineup and record at least one plate appearance for the market to settle on actual performance. If he is scratched or not included in the starting lineup, the market resolves to fair market price. If he starts but does not get a plate appearance, or if he enters the game as a pinch hitter after not starting, the market resolves to fair market price and pinch-hit at-bats do not count. Settlement is based on the RBIs recorded during his starting plate appearances.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market reflects what thousands of independent traders believe will happen, unfiltered by a bookmaker's margin. Over time, prediction markets have proven competitive with or more accurate than traditional sportsbook lines, especially for niche outcomes like specific RBI totals where specialized knowledge concentrates among traders.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing different RBI outcomes. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the collective belief of all active traders; as new information emerges or sentiment shifts, buyers and sellers adjust their bids and asks in real time. You can enter limit or market orders to trade any outcome, and the spread between bid and ask prices tightens as liquidity increases, making execution more efficient for larger positions.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the game concludes and final statistics are verified. The outcome is determined by the total number of runs batted in across both teams during the contest. Resolution is confirmed against credible public sources such as official league records or major sports data providers, ensuring accuracy and fairness. Traders should monitor the game closely as it approaches the end date, since late-inning action can shift RBI totals significantly.
Key catalysts for this market include lineup announcements, injury reports, and weather conditions that affect ball carry and offensive output. Trades by major players, bullpen availability, and recent offensive form of both teams will influence trader positioning. As game time approaches, market depth and liquidity typically increase, potentially tightening spreads. During the game itself, early scoring, pitcher changes, and momentum shifts can cause sharp repricing. Late-inning situations—runners in scoring position, pinch-hitter decisions, and close scores—often trigger the largest moves as traders react to real-time probabilities.
