Jack Perkins and Tyler Phillips, as starting pitchers in the Miami vs Oakland Athletics game on July 3, 2026, will be evaluated on outs recorded. An out is recorded when a pitcher retires a batter through strikeout, ground out, fly out, or other means.
Each starting pitcher must be designated as a starting pitcher and record at least one pitch for the market to settle on actual performance. If a pitcher is scratched or not designated as a starting pitcher, the market resolves to fair market price. If a pitcher enters the game in relief after not starting, the market resolves to fair market price and relief appearances do not count. Settlement is based on outs recorded during the starting pitcher's appearance.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. This market may offer sharper or more efficient pricing on outs recorded than traditional sportsbooks, since traders have direct financial exposure and can adjust positions in real time. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception differs from market consensus.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through continuous order-book trading, where buyers and sellers submit bids and asks that determine the current odds. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price you see reflects the most recent trade and the depth of liquidity available at each price level. As new information emerges or trader conviction shifts, the market price adjusts dynamically. You can execute trades at the current ask to go long or at the current bid to go short, with your position marked to market in real time.
This market resolves around Jul 4, 2026, once the Miami vs A's game concludes and the final outs recorded are verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the actual number of outs tallied during the contest, confirmed through official game records and sports reporting. Your position will settle based on whether the final count matches your prediction, with payouts distributed accordingly once verification is complete.
Key catalysts for this market include lineup announcements, pitcher changes, and injury updates that affect team composition and playing style. Weather conditions, ballpark factors, and recent team performance trends can all shift trader expectations about outs recorded. Breaking news regarding player availability or strategic adjustments by either team may trigger sharp repricing. As game time approaches, pre-game commentary and expert analysis often influence positioning, while live game developments during the contest itself will drive final price movements before settlement.
