These markets evaluate how many points are scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Miami (OH) and Pittsburgh. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined in the fourth quarter, excluding any overtime periods.
The markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the fourth quarter of the Miami (OH) vs Pittsburgh college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026, excluding overtime. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined fourth-quarter points exceed the stated threshold (2.5, 5.5, 7.5, 10.5, 12.5, 13.5, 16.5, 19.5, 20.5, 23.5, or 27.5), the respective market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, the markets resolve to a fair price. All points counted are those officially recorded during the fourth quarter of regulation play only.
Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market incorporates insights from many participants. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, analytical approaches, or simply variations in opinion. It's common to see prediction markets move independently of sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges or as the event draws closer. Analyzing both can provide a more comprehensive view of potential outcomes.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing the probability of the 4th quarter total being over or under the implied line. The price of a contract ranges from 0 to 100, representing the probability of the 'yes' outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders adjust these prices based on their own analysis and expectations, creating a dynamic market that reflects the collective forecast. Higher demand for 'yes' contracts drives the price up, while increased selling pressure pushes it down.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final 4th quarter total for the Miami vs Pittsburgh game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official score reported by the governing body of college football. The market will determine whether the total points scored in the 4th quarter exceeds or falls below the implied line represented by the market price at resolution. All trading will cease once the official result is available.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Miami or Pittsburgh would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest a high-scoring or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. In-game performance during the first three quarters, such as a dominant offensive showing or a defensive struggle, could shift expectations and drive price adjustments. Public sentiment and any major betting trends observed in sportsbooks might also play a role in influencing the market.
