These markets evaluate how many points Miami (OH) and Pittsburgh will score together in the first quarter of their college football game. Each market has a different threshold for the total points needed to settle as 'Yes'.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams combined during the first quarter of the Miami (OH) vs Pittsburgh college football game scheduled for September 5, 2026. If the cumulative points exceed the specified threshold for each market, it resolves to 'Yes'; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. Only points scored in the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi disclaims any affiliation with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain property of their respective owners.
Prediction market odds often reflect a different kind of wisdom than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. Frequently, prediction markets are more accurate than traditional point spreads, especially when factoring in information not readily available to the public. However, sportsbook odds are readily accessible and provide a common benchmark for comparison. It’s common to see differences emerge as new information becomes available and traders adjust their positions.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether the total points scored in the first quarter will be above or below a certain threshold. The price of these contracts reflects the probability of that outcome, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the price fluctuates, providing a real-time assessment of expectations. The market’s depth and volume indicate the level of confidence in the prevailing price.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final score of the first quarter of the Miami vs Pittsburgh game will be used to determine whether the total points scored fall above or below the threshold established by the market price. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, ensuring an objective and transparent outcome. Traders who correctly predicted the outcome will receive a payout based on the contract price at the time of resolution.
Several factors could influence this market. Injury reports for key players on either team would likely cause significant movement, as would any changes to the weather forecast. Unexpected news regarding team strategy or coaching decisions could also impact trading activity. Public sentiment, as reflected in news articles and social media, can also play a role, though to a lesser extent. Finally, as the game approaches, any late-breaking information about player availability or team conditions will be closely watched by traders.
