These markets focus on predicting the outcome of the first quarter in an upcoming college football game between Miami (OH) and Cincinnati. Each market corresponds to different point spreads that either team needs to achieve to satisfy the condition.
The markets resolve based on the point differential in the first quarter of the Miami (OH) vs Cincinnati college football game scheduled for September 19, 2026. Each market specifies a different threshold for either team to win by more than a set number of points in that quarter. If Cincinnati meets or exceeds the specified margin in their favor, the corresponding 'Cincinnati wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. Conversely, if Miami (OH) achieves the required margin in their favor, the relevant 'Miami (OH) wins by over X points' market resolves to Yes. Only points scored during the first quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain active and resolve based on the actual result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Often, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own analysis and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market allows a broader range of participants to express their beliefs. If a significant discrepancy exists between this market and sportsbook lines, it may indicate differing opinions on the likely outcome of the first quarter. It's important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different mechanisms and participant bases.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing different point spreads. The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand, reflecting the collective belief of traders about the likely outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders believe Miami will cover a specific spread, the price of contracts representing that spread will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities in real-time.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the actual point spread achieved in the first quarter of the Miami vs Cincinnati game will be compared to the contract spreads offered on Kalshi. The contracts corresponding to the correct spread will pay out $100, while others will expire worthless. The resolution will be based on official game statistics and will be determined by the platform's established procedures.
Several factors could influence the price of this market before the game concludes. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Miami or Cincinnati teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they are expected to impact the game's style of play, could also shift the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about team strategies or coaching decisions could affect trader sentiment and lead to price adjustments in this market. Public perception and betting trends from sportsbooks may also play a role.
